The Fog Joggers

Jan, Stephan, Ben and Christian, four young men in their early 20s, have been doing what they do best for the past almost four years: indie rock. Sweat and endorphins carry the stage show. A brilliant voice carries the songs and melodies.

The Fog Joggers are one of today’s most exciting and talented bands – a reputation that’s led to appearances at numerous festivals and to extensive tours in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and the UK. These four boys from the Rhineland are on the up and look set for greatness. The band is celebrating the upcoming release of their new album and the start of their latest tours with appearances at selected festivals.

Catchy pop sounds from the 1970s go hand in hand with bluesy indie rock. That such an innovative musical drive, and such a flood of creative energy, has emerged from the sleepy Rhineland is a surprise in itself – all the better then that The Fog Joggers prove how German bands can make it internationally as well. Ever present is the impressive voice of front man Jan Büttner, who sounds as if he was smoking cigarettes and drinking whisky while he was still in his cot. No less impressive is the accompanying music produced by bandmates Stephan Selbach (bass), drummer Ben Kronski and Christian Peitz (organ).

The Fog Joggers’ debut album was recorded in Duisburg’s Tresorfabrik studio. Achim Lindermeir, who has previously worked for bands such as Itchy Poopzkid, Benzin, Die Happy, A-Ha, 2raumwohnung, H-Blockx, took on the role of producer. Most of the record was mastered at Düsseldorf’s Skyline studio. Atmospheric sounds, passionate melodies but 100% rock ’n’ roll – that’s what The Fog Joggers are all about. A band whose debut album, with energy-packed songs reminiscent of the early Stones, looks set to be a hit.
