Festival of young directors
Radikal jung, the festival of young directors, has been held annually since 2005 in the Munich Volkstheater. It offers up-and-coming directors of the younger generation a forum and a stage for their work.
A panel of judges selects plays by young directors working in German-language theatre. At the end of the festival week, the winner – as voted for by the audience – is presented with a prize of 2,500 euros. As part of the supporting programme running in parallel to the plays, there will be audience Q&As with the director and a member of the jury, along with discussions on the future of theatre and new ways of promoting it.
