museum Fluxus+ exhibits works from private collections and has a permanent exhibition, which is divided into three parts: Fluxus, Wolf Vostell and contemporary artists (the plus in the museum’s name stands for the latter). The museum’s collected works are based on the key interests of a private collector, and therein lies its distinctiveness.
The breadth of this set of artworks, correspondence, objects, historical items and films of and about the Fluxus art movement is unrivalled in this part of Germany, and the display of works by Wolf Vostell and the four contemporary artists (Hella De Santarossa, Costantino Ciervo, Lutz Friedel and Sebastian Heiner) offer further insights into the movement. There is a natural link here from the sixties to the present day, in that the connection between art and life, proclaimed by the Fluxus artists, is also very much to the fore in contemporary art. The museum also hosts temporary exhibitions and has a shop and café.
