Lea Asja Pagenkemper’s pictures are characterised by a distinctive contrastive style, whereby the visual illusion of depth is replaced by a spatial intensity achieved through multiple layers of colour.

Using an unconventional mix of oil acrylics, spray paint, chalk and marker pens, the artist weaves together urban and rural visual elements – nature and the metropolis. There are no people in her pictures, although they do leave visible traces.
