HafenCity
HafenCity is a brand new city quarter with a style all of its own that is taking shape on the banks of the Elbe. Bordering the Speicherstadt warehouse complex and incorporating the exciting new Elbe Philharmonic Hall, HafenCity is destined to become the focal point of music in Hamburg.
The HafenCity information centre, which can be found in the Speicherstadt’s former boiler house, tells you everything you need to know about HafenCity, currently Hamburg’s premier urban development project. Here you can follow the planning process in fine detail and see Hamburg’s new quarter turning into reality little by little, day by day. The exhibition centrepiece is a large-scale model offering many interactive ways to explore HafenCity as it will look when complete. This new district might still be evolving, but one day, together with the historical neighbouring Speicherstadt, it will surely be the new hotspot for artists, creative professionals and talented chefs.
